The Voice of Holland (also known as TVOH) is a Dutch reality singing competition, created by media tycoon John de Mol, and currently airing on RTL4 in the Netherlands. Hosted by Martijn Krabbé and Wendy van Dijk it is currently the number 1 show in the Netherlands, with increasing ratings from 1.6 to 3.0 million viewers. And 3.75 million viewers watched the final on January 21, 2011.
One of the important premises of the show is the quality of the singing talent. Four coaches, themselves popular performing artists, train the talents in their group and occasionally perform with them. Talents are selected in blind auditions, where the coaches cannot see, but only hear the auditioner. The music of the Dutch show is provided by a live band, called the Edwin Evers Band.
Season 1 (2010–2011)
In season one, judges were Roel van Velzen, Jeroen van der Boom, Angela Groothuizen and Nick & Simon (working together). Host was Martijn KrabbĂ©. The First Season ended on January 21, 2011, Ben Saunders was declared the winner, with Pearl Jozefzoon as runner-up. Saunders won by 59% of the votes. An average of 2.7 million people watched the show every Friday since its launch, while the final attracted 3,744,000 viewers. The results show broadcast half an hour later attracted 3,238,000.[1] In total 30 of the show’s singles reached the Top 100 download charts in the Netherlands, including 2 #1 chart toppers by winner Ben Saunders
Season 2 (2011–2012)
Season 2 has been confirmed with judges remaining the same except for Jeroen van der Boom of season 1 replaced by Marco Borsato in season 2.
International franchises

Various international television networks have indicated interest in buying the show. On 14 December 2010, NBC announced that they bought the American version, which will be The Voice. The Voice starts on April 26, 2011.
Belgium will start airing their own version of the show in 2012. It will be broadcast on vtm, the main commercial television station in Flanders, Belgium and entitled ‘De Stem van Vlaanderen’ (The Voice of Flanders).[citation needed]
In December Germany will start with The Voice of Germany[citation needed] and also Ukraine and Turkey will start with their version of The Voice.[citation needed] It is unclear when these shows will start.
French production company Shine France has bought the format and the large national television chains, including TF1 and M6 expressed interest. TF1 won eventually and the format will be used for new Star Academy to be aired in 2012
